Futsal is an indoor soccer modality played in a court with the following dimensions: 25-42 m long x 15-25 m wide.
All the famous Brazilian players (Robinho, Ronaldo the phenomenon, Ronaldinho gaucho) and Argentines (Tevez, Maradona, etc) began their career in this sport that is very popular in South America and in Europe.
This modality demands from the player: speed, agility and game view, because in a short space you have to feint, score goals and defend. These are some of the rules for you to know this exciting modality better:
BASIC RULES
Number of players: the minimum number of players to start the game is 5, one of whom shall be a goalkeeper. In addition, the maximum number of substitutes is 7.
Duration of the game: two equal periods of 20 minutes each, the clock is stopped whenever the ball is out of play. The half time duration is 10 minutes, between the 2 periods.
Playing court: dimensions: 25-42 m long x 15-25 m wide.
Punctuation: each scored goal is equal to 1 (one) point in the scoreboard.
Ball: size: #4, circumference: 62-64 cm, weight: 390-430 grams, bounce: 55-65 cm on first, material: Leather or other suitable material.
Referees: 2 referees, the main referee and assistant referee. There are also, the substitute referee and the timekeeper.
Technical time: each coach can stop the game twice to give instructions; it is a one-minute break, one in each period.
Substitutions: substitutions are free, but the must happen in the specific area of the field. It is not necessary to inform and the player can go out and return as many times as necessary.
Accumulated fouls: all technical, misconduct and personal fouls are accumulative. A team can accumulate 5 fouls in each period; from the 6th foul that team shall not be allowed a defensive wall (direct free kick). Until the ball is kicked into play, all players other than the goalkeeper and kicker shall remain behind an imaginary line that is in line with the ball and parallel to the goal line.
